So the Macbook's are like any other laptop then, if the hardware does not need drivers it should work right?

That's why I'm asking - he put a different brand hard disc in to what Apple Uses (currently Hitachi).

It may be on a macbook but I have a macbook pro and the procedure is probably a bit more involved.I thought the hard disc is a user serviceable part?
Dunno - decided the hdd space was worth more than having it so disabled that.I wonder what would happen if I suspend-to-disc, stick in the new memory, and then try to resume?![]()
