MacBook Pro charging just not happening

I bought a dirt cheap Macbook Pro 7.1 and got a new generic battery. The Magsafe adapter though is giving me endless hell. It did so many thing it wasn't supposed to once I replaced the battery.

On first charge the Magsafe green light would light up for a second then die. I then plugged the Magsafe in and out of the wall socket until finally the green light turned to red indicating a battery charge.

The battery charged full and I ran the Macbook off the battery until it was drained again. I then tried to charge the thing again. This time the green light went on off on off on off... and you can clearly hear a buzzing noise in the adapter.

I reset the SMC while the Magsafe was connected and this sorted out the problem... for a while. The Magsafe light turned yellow and the battery charged. The again the green light went on and off and on and off... and on the screen the charging sign went on and off with the light as well. So again I reset the SMC, problem solved again for a short while until the Magsafe went on and off as before.

Now the battery drained again. And now when I connect the Magsafe adapter nothing happens. No green light, no charging light indicator on the side of Macbook, but I hear a buzzing noise in the Magsafe adapter when it is connected to the Macbook, but the buzzing stops when I disconnect it.

Same thing happens when I connect another Magsafe adapter.

I don't want to spend money on this thing.

Is there anything I can try myself to fix this problem?

I thought the same but he says he tried more than one charger.

You have to spend money to fix this problem.
Considering you've already tried another MagSafe connector - my guess is the charging board / magsafe board is at fault. The reason I say this, is due to the fact that even when a MacBook has a battery that doesn't even charge or last 1 second off AC power - that green light should always come on.

Secondly, the light should never be red/ yellow. It must be Green / Amber colors, only.

Edit: Also, if the battery was on it's way out - OS X would tell you about it.

By removing the 10 small screws from the rear panel and then removing the battery.

For anyone that's interested: www.ifixit.com has all tear-down info on all MacBooks / iDevices / iMacs, with instructions, pictures, etc.

Okay nevermind, shorted the logic board as I tried to take battery out again. Thing is dead. My luck.

I did the same thing with my old MacBook (White one)

First want to see if I can get logic board fixed. PM me an offer though. Everything else is in a very good condition. Not a scratch on the screen, keyboard is perfect. 1 or 2 dents on exterior.
