The hard drive cable on my MacBook Pro (13" early 2011) has failed. I'd be comfortable replacing it myself if I could find a decent priced one. Anybody know where I can pick one up?

Great question, although it seems I'm not the only one: http://www.macworld.com/article/2030013/advice-from-an-apple-tech-three-common-mac-fixes.html

Anyway - I'm sure it's the cable. I've popped the HDD into a USB enclosure and working it out that way. Obviously it's a schlep to have to run off an external drive, so a replacement cable would be nice.
Lets hope so - in my case it was the primary SATA that failed and I ended up having to move the drive to the CD rom bay.

Thanks for that. I'd prefer to source from a local reseller, if possible.

That's sometimes a problem with parts like this, it's usually next to impossible to find them locally and if you do they're stupidly expensive.

These guys (saspares.com) seem to have. I'll make a plan to pop by there soonish. I might get a quote from the iStore first though.

saspares.com has some cool stuff actually. They have a nice selection of tools and prices are pretty good.

Hey Hey

Here as well... 2012 MacBook Pro 13" with failed HDD cable.

The search for sub R600 cable begins...
