Pooky--you are going through all this to avoid what? A price difference of a couple of hundred rands and 6-8 weeks? You are true Apple-fan!
It's not the price, it's the delivery time. I hate waiting for cool things!

Hope you get you awesome machine soon. I am loving my 11" macbook air, this core i5 processor + ssd is a wicked combination.
I was really tempted to just get the 13" i5 but I really wanted the extra speed. I like having the best available.
Whats the ETA on the machine? Hope it doesn't get stuck in customs, they usually hold everything up.
Should get it sometime next week. Currently been processed through customs in USA, so it's on it's way.
I hope so. Will customs phone me and tell me to pay them?
For tracked shipments someone will usually contact you with details of what is owed. Only time I've ever had customs take long with processing is when I disputed their classification of the goods.

Can I then pick it up from customs and pay them cash?
Courier? They normally let you come to them, pay and collect, if you're in a hurry.
