Mail Client & Office Suite

Yeah... right. I'd like to see you walk out of Incredible Corruption with any Core i7 laptop PC that costs less than the 15" MBP - and has vaguely equivalent specs... go ahead try a Viao, HP or Dell and see if you can find one.

Vaios especially are very overpriced.

Even though this thread turned into a mine is better than yours thread, I found the DavMail suggestion perfect for my needs. Thanks!

BTW... can't go wrong with Mac, it might be more expensive than a Windows Laptop, but you save about 650 man hours with Software that just works.

Being the stubborn ba$tard that I am, I will now ignore all other arguments.

another one comparing apples with pears. people buy macbook pros because they want mac os and not windows and because THEY CAN AND THEY WANT. not everybody wants cheap plastic stuff.

I never stated otherwise, I was merely showing what "high-end" specification means. Also, the ASUS laptop is hardly "cheap" plastic.

Yes, the beta

I've found it to be extremely buggy so far, and this excludes the fact that I have had to download about 4 different versions so far to overcome the expiry issue. What I do like is the ability to open .pst files and the collaboration feature across the suite.

Compared to an apple it still is, but that's why it costs half the price. And it actually doesn't matter, I have used Toshiba, Acer and Asus laptops my whole life and they are great but I still wouldn't compare them to apple macs as those are two different worlds and they are again clashing.

And IMO a bluray drive and perhaps a usb 3.0 connection doesn't make it more high-end.

Ya, by now I have realised that as well, I hope that will be sorted out soon. And the .pst thing was the ONLY reason why I went this route.

Beta 6 is out, hope the major issues are fixed

add: Beta 6 is incredibly fast. documents open instantly. outlook launches within 2 seconds and the junk mail protection works now as well. all in all that was a fantastic update.

Is there a download link or do you have be registered for the beta program? All the links I've tried on Microsoft's site seem to end up with the Windows version :(
