mailbox.co.za?

Webmail is old. I had an account with them prior Google Mail ever came within existence, that is my spam (receivable) address today or to test products (trials). They have no known issues or downtime, don’t use their web access, only through email clients. Do note that you can only POP with them, the SMTP must be your service provider.

Judging by mail.webmail.co.za (from their FAQ)
looks like it's hosted in Europe somewhere, probably France.

Yeesh, worst site ever. No idea why but my mom insists on using her @mighty.co.za (which was awesome until it was bought by webmail) even though she has a gmail address. Ridiculous amount of ads on there. 1995 interface.

Only good thing about Webmail is that you can Pop3 it to your Outlook. Never have to view the site ever once registered.

Just out of interest sake... Why would anyone actually want to use mail services like this in comparison to gmail or yahoo?

It just dumbfounds me personally... If someone said hey, webmail is free why don't you open an account and get a free email address with them... I'd say something along the lines of... Why?

Why do you have a gmail account? It just doumbfounds me personally.... why would one want a gmail account if you can get a free webmail.co.za account?

Not sure if new on the internet or trolling?

I'm new to the internet. Since about 1993.....

Maybe you didn't see the irony though. He questions one free email service over another. Asif the one is superior. They're both free, and both have their pro's and con's. People use either webmail or gmail, cause it's free. But I guess with some of the youngsters today, it's really that hard to understand

I guess people lose their sense of humour when they reach the age of 45 :(

Just wondering but how is gmail not superior than webmail? You can't even send mail with webmail.... They might both be free but in terms of having a google account and having a webmail account, the features and functionality offered by google are like 10000 x more...

I guess with some of the older folk out there its a bit hard to comprehend how the system works in its entirety and the many awesome uses that come with that. Reminds me a bit of my mother ^^

Anyways, Fulcrum29 made a valid point in the other thread about their intrusiveness but honestly i'd be surprised if the masses of webmail addresses in their list are not sold off...

Damn, this makes me nostalgic

Now if only if I could remember my password of back then - probably something like b1gd1ckpu$$ymagn3t as I was still a teenager back when I used that account :p

No, they are owned by incuBeta Holdings which owns several global internet companies, they keep on buying that which is available.

Don't question his knowledge or experience, he's had a webmail account since 1993... Maybe even works for them as an agent of deception :D
