I am experiencing major call quality issues , dropped calls , very poor out going sound ( opposite party complaining of breakup),poor data

All this with full signal , it has become so bad that i have now forced my phone to roam on Vodacom

Same here, returned the phone to CellC on day 1 of my contract. It was infuriating. For reference, this is Cape Gate area

What phone do you have?

It's not limited to Apple. When I was in store on Sunday a woman came in with a Blackberry where she was getting no calls. Think its a general network issue.

Problem is that CellC is growing way to fast and their network does not seem to be able to cope with the influx of new subscribers ,it does not make sense for a company to throw deals at potential clients but then fail on service delivery

Its seems that the CELLC REP has gone underground , i have not received any feedback to my PM's nor is he responding on the forum.

I don't think he knows what to tell people anymore. His job is probably to get information and send it on and come back with the good news that something is fixed.

However lately he can't come back with good news. He has a tough job. Customers are complaining as crazy and I know he wants to help us but the people that he reports to aren't fixing anything so that makes things very difficult for the poor rep.

Cell C rep, we feel for you but the company you work for sucks so much lately.

Hi,

We are still around and pushing our network team to resolve the queries we have escalated to them.

Regards
CellC|TM

Feedback , I received a call from the Network Department, Tshepo , he had first hand experience with the poor call quality and promised to revert soonest.

I will keep you guys posted.

On my wife's phone, she can make calls and send sms. Also data works fine, but sms and calls can't be received. Also in Cape Town.

Girlfriend and myself also having endless issues on Red Bull Mobile (Cell C) here in Cape Town as well.

Calls are being dropped, sometimes get this terrible static sound and have to redial, when answering the phone often it is just silent and need to redial a few times for it to work or it just goes straight to voicemail.

I have the defy and she is on the samsung galaxy, only started recently.

I'm on RBM and have the same problems. Dropped, missed calls. Data not working. Since day one. Sometimes i have to redial few times to be able to establish a connection. Spoke to a monkey or what ever they calling their support team of losers on the phone regarding this and he has told me that they can not see that i have to redial 3 times to make a call. I was like WTF bro, you should be able to pick up that i was dialing from the same SIM just 5 min ago. At the end i have decided to do my two years with them, with less aggravation as possible and then RUN FOREST RUN. Also it is not phone related. In the beginning (when i got my contract April 2011) i honestly thought it is a phone problem. I got that cheap ***** Huawei and i thought to myself, that i bought this rubbish and this is why does not work. Till i went oversees and used it on Vodafone network in two different countries for 3 weeks. The phone worked like a dream. Actually i could not believe how nicely that cheap crap worked. Back to SA and problems started all over again. What is a point of paying less if often i have to phone 2-3 times to get the conversation done or i'm missing half of receiving calls . For me it is not worth it the frustration that i'm having with this to save a 100 bucks per month. Can not wait to get rid of those clowns. Porting back in April to VC. Been with them for 8 years without a single problem. Never ever been at the shop or phone them because of a problem.

Roaming on VC

I also have been ripping my hair out with this call dropping / voice fading problem. I did a lot of research and it seems that there are problems world wide.

I must say tho that putting the phone to roam VC has helped and although not ideal I suppose I can live with it for now.

I have friends with the iphone 5 also on cellc in cape town who have no problem at all so it is really hard to track down a definite issue. One theory I have read is that it has to do with the baseband coding on certain devices that does not talk properly to certain networks- does not make sense to me
