I exist only in my own mind ...
Who is unimportant. The reasons are important as we are going to see more of this and not only in the IT sector.

And it should be sending shivers down everybody's spine.

This is their email.

Dear Valued Customers,

We regret to inform you that a 10% increase will be levied on all xxx products as of 1March 2014.

With increases in fuel, e- tolls, transport and the continuing weakening of the Rand, it has become impossible for xxx distribution to maintain its current pricing structures.

Taking into consideration all the increases indicated as well as the other factors affecting the South African economy, the 10% increase is still below the exchange rate im pact, xxx is thus minimizing the cost impact for its customers by absorbing some of the other increases.

We appreciate your understanding and thank you for your continued support.

you quite right... we gonna see more of this. I was in the taxi this morning and the fare has gone up to R7 already and will probably be R8 soon

the okes were all talking in english once I joined in about how bad things are going in the country. they said that they sick of the ANC they all voting EFF :D

I said if they vote EFF Malema will make the taxi go up to R10 :D

I was shocked to see that the price on HP Microservers went up by almost 70% yesterday :(

One of our suppliers has already increased their prices by 10% and we may have to increase our prices from our other overseas suppliers as the exchange rate is not helping.

We also had to increase prices 1st of March.

We got a stinky letter back from one of our major customers demanding that we present ourselves to them and "justify the increases"
(we haven't increased prices over the last three years).

wow. sounds like a lube session that...

Some of our suppliers have increased their prices more than 25%, though most are because of the weak rand.
