I guess Grummz might beat Musk to it!!!

This game is entirely "vibe" coded.

I spent 6 months using AI to replace Unreal Engine from under our game Em-8ER.

Now we're developing 93x faster than we ever did before with Unreal. Because our engine is developed to be 100% AI first instead of tacked on.

It is not a toy one shotted overnight, it is a production ready engine.

I made a big bet that this was the future and now I'm very confident it is. You don't need to license an expensive game engine anymore.Today's update features:

- Advanced character animation system
- World collision meshes- AI assisted Blender anim exporter and workflow
- Character outfits and outfit swapping
- Physic driven character effects
- Fully networked client/server player capsules
- Pilotable vehicles
- Waifus

The engine is called Kun-Zhi, the Tibetan word for "Ground of all" that the world springs from.

This engine will be released to the public, starting with backers first.

Today we're opening up to public backers again after a quiet building period where they were closed. If you would like to support our engine work and get the game, you can subscribe as a patron, or purchase a game backer pack on sale at 50% here: https://my.em8er.com/perks

Corporate sponsorships are available. Send a DM. Current partners include Razer and AMD.

Follow and subscribe for our first "How To" articles on AI coding and gaming dropping tomorrow.

Partnered with Razer and AMD nogals. SJOE!

Newcomers to Em8ER have contacted us, wanting a chance to back early. So we've created these Newcomer Backer Packs and a brand new item in the game: Skinned Dropships. The good news is that everyone, from M1 to M3 and purchasing Newcomers, will receive a commemorative, unique model, Founder's Dropship that will never be sold again. These Dropships will be pushed to all registered Em8ERID accounts right away.

Newcomers who have been asking to back Em-8ER now have the chance to purchase a variety of packs featured below. Please note that Max Kahunas and Kaiju Slayers will receive all these perks as well. New Archon and Ark Liege backers (and Maxes and Slayers) will also receive a 2nd uniquely designed, extremely limited run dropship that reflects their rarefied status. (Design TBD).

Dropships fly in to deliver your THMPR mining mechs and when you need a new Omniframe delivered. You will also see your Dropship when flying from terraforming pocket to pocket, alongside your squad-mates own ships. Stand out from the crowd with your commemorative edition ship!

This campaign has no current end date.

NOTES:

- Founder and MAX Dropships designs are unique, we break the mold after this. Not available in Kickstarter or beyond.
- MAX Dropships are unique from Founder Dropships and designs are TBD. We estimate only a handful will be in existence.
- Razer CHROMA refers to skins with dynamic glows that sync with Razer gaming hardware.
- All awards will ship with final game. Some, like the PDFs and Test builds ship as soon as ready. Forum Tags match package name.
- All packs include Pre-Kickstarter, Pre-Alpha, Alpha and Beta testing access.

Elon has, via the US, outmaneuvered this promise. AI is dead in the US, it is now SI, so this would have to be a SI Game Studio. Well played.

In the meantime, Google wants anyone who is a US citizen who is 18 or older, with zero coding experience, to make games.

Good luck knocking down the Roblox business model; neither will this replace the good old Newgrounds.

There are others doing this as well, but Google doesn't do this without data collection. They may call this, "Your Content," but, lol, Google has built an empire on data collection.

Epic is going all in on AI,

We have a huge pivot underway here at Epic, moving developers around to retool for maximum AI acceleration.

The aim isn't to do the same stuff with fewer people, but to enable everyone here to build MORE and BETTER stuff, and to bring the benefits to all teams using Unreal.

also, they are totally going to streamline their headcount.

I guess Epic wants to win this race,

Epic Games Delays Disney Project, Asks Developers to Use More AI

The company told the team behind the upcoming shooter that it will now be an ‘AI first’ production

...

Developers on the game, a shooter featuring characters from the Marvel and Star Wars franchises, were instructed to implement an “AI first” production model using tools such as Anthropic’s Claude. Humans will then manage and guide that work. “No more hand-written code,” one of the game’s directors told staff in an internal message reviewed by Bloomberg. The director added that all art for the game would be “generated with full AI workflows.”

Even before this announcement, the maker of the popular Fortnite game had been pushing hard for the use of AI across all of its divisions. But this is the first time a major video-game company has attempted to build a title primarily with AI.

"We’re embracing AI-accelerated development, led by Epic developers who are the visionaries and creative drivers for everything we do,” said Jake Jones, communications director at Epic Games, in a statement to Bloomberg News. A spokesperson for Disney didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.

XBOX long thought about this one, not having to sound like Epic 😉

Today we're standing up XBOX LABS (http://labs.xbox.com). Here is the note that I sent to the team:

Team,

he first video games emerged some 75 years ago. In the time since, there have been booms and busts, but every year there are more great games to play, more devices to play them, and best of all, more people than ever playing. That growth helped make XBOX what it is today, and we've helped shape the industry in return, from bringing hard drives to consoles and online gaming through Xbox Live to Game Pass and cloud gaming, alongside franchises that have brought millions of people together.

In recent weeks, we've seen games rapidly decompiled and rebuilt to run on hardware they were never originally designed to support. Windows PC builds have been translated to run on Apple Silicon or ported to run inside a browser through WebAssembly and WebGPU, the latter now approaching 90% global browser support. Perhaps more surprisingly, we've seen many of the biggest games in the world have been remixed into the source code of another.

These experiments challenge long-held assumptions about our industry: the tether between software and hardware, the boundary between creation and play, and how people discover and experience games. While it is hard to predict the future of gaming, it is easy to see the possibilities in making great games easier to access, giving old games new life and allowing more players to become creators and co-creators. These are unmistakably good outcomes for players, even when (and sometimes because) they challenge our existing business models. To explore these possibilities, I’ve asked Scott to stand-up XBOX LABS, a small group of game makers, engineers and scientists whose job is to turn emerging ideas into things our players and developers can experience. We'll build in the open, learn from what people do, and measure success by whether more people are playing and creating.I think XBOX has an important role to play here. Coding became the first major workload for agents because they can write, run, and test software. Games share many of those same properties, and people spend more than 72 billion hours a year playing XBOX games, roughly five times the estimated time spent writing code worldwide. We've spent 25 years learning how to make great games, and I want our game makers to help shape what these new technologies make possible. As we learn, we’ll share the tools we build with developers across the industry, just as we always have.

Our priorities aren't changing. We remain committed to the 4Cs, to making great games, to our hardware and to being responsible stewards of IP and the communities built around it. LABS gives us a way to explore new technology that is game design led without abandoning the work already underway.

Epic is doing it!

The games we've long wanted, which didn't exist because they'd cost several times more to make than they'd earn back, will soon become possible. As will the games developers wanted to build, but couldn't with the resources available. It'll be a new golden age of gaming.

This is a strange bit though,

That's what we found with code experiments back in January, but now it's WAY better, and we're learning to organize code, documentation, and .md file architecture descriptions to provide way more context and architectural stability.

dude, what year is this? Even the home-lab people have been doing this since the earliest times.

Then he said,

We're approaching a point where a code check-in assisted by AI should be at the level of clarity, correctness, and maintainability of a 100% human-made check-in. It's not perfect, but neither are we.

the human is 100% removed. He said it. This is also the person who said that we own the games that we buy. Just wait until these games are DRM-watermarked. INFERENCE. Good luck cracking that, and this would mean virtualised. This is not only disrupting coding by human hands, but will also disrupt traditional game distribution. Watch!

All this talk about games being exclusive to Xbox consoles (not the PC) is going to be due to this signature. I got this tingle.
