Ray William Johnson has it good, all he does is trolls YouTube and raises and opinion and that earns him a salary. Philip defranco is quite informative though, I enjoy his show every now and then...

I lolled at how the article doesn't actually explain how it works : it's actually simple, paid ads are placed on your video, the more views, the more cash gets spent on ads and the more money you make.

Ads aren't just pay per click. You also can pay per thousand impressions.

All I did was upload some screencasts of my Android phones running different launchers to show here on MyBB, so I did not pay any attention to detail or quality, nor comment on them or such.

So all of the views are either Android users here on MyBB or hits from Google search and for that I got Ad-sense cheques as I am registered for ads re Android applications. Looking at breakdown, it shows that MyBB basically made me R 378 and some odd cents (enough to cover the purchase of the launchers I guess)

Depends on what ad's you activate, who the advertiser is, what method you select and so on. You can make up to $2 - $3 for every 1000 views on prime content/advertisers.

So in short, there is a lot that goes into the formula and simpply put you need loads of people to actually start make a living off it, but it is possible.
