Making your own USB popcorn popper

I got some PSU's that sit around ... could any of you enlighten me as to which are the two highest voltage cables :p ... and where to I get those heat led's from ??
 
I remember when they used to sell cigarette lighters with built in ash-trays for a 5.25" bay :p
 
I saw them in some suppliers pricelist ... probably esquire ... but years ago ... maybe it was you, maybe it wasn't :p

well... I think that they offer mostly 12v BUT it's the amps you want, I mean, if you got a connection that can pull out 1.7 amps then you could get 20 watts of raw power :p

Lol ... ok, but how do I get the amps out of the system ... how do I wire the wires to each wire correctly (I tried to make that sound confusing) ;)

lol, I noticed that in fact, this guy uses 2 lights, on 1... but ya, I'm thinking that if you connected enough lights to a 20watt connector, you might have an effective pop corn maker.

I noticed that the bulbs are 2.5v, 0.3A
and he uses 2, so in theory, that means w=2.5 x 0.3 =0.75 watts.
2 of them should equal 1.5 watts/
but if you had a 20 watt power connector, then you could have 25 or 26 of those lights

Surely it draws lots of amps or something though, to power something that would make heat enough for popcorn? I'm sure I vastly overstated though :D

not really, In the video the packet with the lights in them reach a nice 150 degrees C, , BUT I can only imagine that it would take ages to get those lil bad boys to heat the popcorn to 150 (around the temp that popcorn pop's)
