Makro Gaming Rig is it Worth it?

That Rig should be updated with the new quad-core i3.

You can't put a coffee lake cpu in an older generation MB, it's not backwards compatible even though they share the same socket.

No, at this point in time there are only expensive Z370 MBs available for coffee lake, the cheaper chipset boards will only become available next year unfortunately.

Hi All,

Looking at getting my son a mid range gaming rig, been I while since I was into the hardware side of things. Makro have a special on an Asus rig at the moment was R14999 now R9999, is it worthwhile or should I rather build myself ? :

It's pretty entry level with Win10 included. Not a bad price.

You can always later just upgrade the CPU and the GPU when you have more spare cash.

That a good deal at Makro - take it and you have a 2 year warranty with a reputable company. Piece of mind. That case is also unique for gaming. Will turn heads for sure.

After the 2 years you can still upgrade with better mb/gpu/memory etc etc.
