There was definitely incompetence from Malaysian Airlines. What do you mean by "monitoring this aircraft"?
You would think the staff that track it via their software would have picked up that it was veering off course as it was apparently off course for quite a while.
The last ADS-B position report from the aircraft was received by Flightradar24 at 17:21 UTC (1:21 AM local time), about 40 minutes after the aircraft departed Kuala Lumpur.

My guess is its pilot suicide, and you may never know when it will happen. That Germanwings pilot did so too.![]()
