Dude it's all estimations and projections. The CIA hasn't counted every birth and every death, and every fence-jump...LOL, have you just brought the credibility of the CIA world fact book into question? Who insinuated that they know everything? So you think that an independent sources (CIA World factbook nonetheless) statistics are BS? Wow, there is just no pleasing our eternal skeptics is there. Since you are being so anal about 2011, how about 2010, was that an illusion LOL

Look at the HUGE jumps in all the numbers for SA in 2008... So it was either hella inaccurate before that, or hella inaccurate since that - either way, yes, the credibility is in question
*shrug* why are you taking it so seriously?
The same CIA who pointed to evidence of WMDs in Iraq?
And yes I think there is massive underreporting of births, deaths AND inward migration. End of story.
"There is a decline in population growth in South Africa," she said at the release of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) 2011 "State of World Population" report in Cape Town.
Sigh, you might want to read up on the nomenclature of population decline. Thanks for vindicating me. They cite a DECLINE IN GROWTH not a DECLINE IN POPULATION![]()
Population decline can refer to the decline in population of any organism, but this article refers to population decline in humans. It is a term usually used to describe any great reduction in a human population.[1] It can be used to refer to long-term demographic trends, as in urban decay or rural flight, but it is also commonly employed to describe large reductions in population due to violence, disease, or other catastrophes.[2]
"It's over with Malema. There will be peace in South Africa," sang a group of residents.
A community member, who did not want to be named, said: "We have had enough of Malema and his group, who had been looking at their own interests rather than those of the masses who voted them into power.
Surely you do understand the Mathematical implications of a decreasing growth rate? Surely this means people are having fewer children than they did before. Or it could be that while people are having more children there is a accelerated rate of of death. Either way way one of the two has changed. Or maybe it is emigration/immigration ratio that has changed in favour of emigration. Thanks for vindicating me. They cite a DECLINE IN GROWTH not a DECLINE IN POPULATION![]()
So you think the CIA are not smart enough to cater for all of these sorts of things into their projections right?
To think that malema actually said the following: "Having babies is a revolutionary thing. You must reproduce!"
Having lots of babies is this country's biggest problem.
I've only caught the last page of this and don't feel like reading it all (so some context may be lost on me here), but a decline in growth rates does not equate to a population decline. Think of a company reporting a decline in profit - it's just a decline - it doesn't mean they're not still making a profit...
