ANC distances itself from Malema

Problem is he won't go away if you merely 'distance yourself' from him. You have to forcefully remove the guy if you mean business.

The ANC youth league’s expression of support for Zanu-PF undermines South Africa’s mediation efforts in Zimbabwe, the ANC said on Friday.The party is seeking an “urgent meeting” with its youth movement to discuss the matter.
“The ANC would also like to strongly disagree and distance itself from utterances by the ANCYL at their press conference yesterday [Thursday] that they will support President Robert Mugabe and his Zanu-PF to win the forthcoming general elections in Zimbabwe,” ANC spokesman Jackson Mthembu said in a statement.
“The ANC together with its government would like to see all political parties in Zimbabwe (the two MDC’s and Zanu-PF) implementing the spirit and the letter of the global political agreement.
Malema described the visit as successful and hailed Zimbabwe’s controversial land reform program. He also expressed the ANCYL’s wish to see Mugabe’s Zanu-PF returned to power after elections in Zimbabwe. Mthembu said the ANC would arrange a meeting with the ANCYL to discuss their qualms.
Mthembu said the party would also raise the matter of singing struggle songs and Malema’s comments on slain AWB leader Eugene Terre’Blanche. “In this envisaged urgent meeting, the ANC will also sharply raise with the ANCYL their utterances in matters relating to the death of Mr Eugene Terre’Blanche.” During the briefing, Malema dismissed claims that Terre’Blanche’s death was linked to his singing the song with the words “shoot the boer”.
“Its not about the song… they [the murder accused] wanted what rightfully belongs to them — salary,” Malema said.
“This man [Terre’Blanche] has been a distaste to the people he lived with, including the animals… the horse itself would not tolerate him.” He said he understood the pain Terre’Blanche’s family was experiencing and that they were looking for a “scapegoat”.
Mthembu also took issue with Malema’s treatment of a journalist during the briefing and also lashed out at AWB secretary general Andre Visagie who allegedly threatened a political commentator at the e-News broadcasting studios.
“This action by Mr Visagie equally does not augur well for the freedom of expression, as enshrined in our Constitution. “What is even more glaring on this matter is that Mr Visagie threatened a woman political commentator with the intention to harm during a live TV broadcast.” The political commentator, Lebohang Pheko, reportedly intends to file charges of intimidation with the police.

Quickly trying to fix the bos-up that Malema created by spilling the beans? As for the comment about Visage, they themselves make the AWB look good.

You see the interview... it was a clear attempt to pull the p155 out of the AWB. The woman political analyst had to obscure her mouth to hide the laughter.

Why on earth should anyone start taking them seriously now? Not even Mister Malema is a good enough excuse to beatify that bunch...

Fisher displayed a gutter journalism that had preconceived views of Malema as a buffoon who needed to be ridiculed, rather than going there objectively and getting feedback of the Zim trip as his profession demands. He chose to parrot the prevailing sensationalist reporting on Julius which doesn't bother to ask the serious questions which pertain to the future of the country's economic, political and social structures.

And this is what the general public enjoys, being fed shallow and simplistic sensation that liberates you from the burden/responsibility of thinking critically about the issues that matter. :rolleyes:

Why not critically consider why the MDC is in Sandton in the first place? Maybe having the stuffing beaten out of them by Mugabe's goons every now and then is the reason. Detention without trial could be another.

Unfortunately malemmer is a national embarrassment and typical example of the current regime ruining this country. He should be ridiculed at every opportunity. That is when he reveal his true racist colors.

Anyone who sticks up for malema and zuma and this alliance, that wishes to steal the property of the nation, following in the footsteps of mugabe, needs to recieve the same treatment that is being regurgitated by these killers.

All those who stand up for these murderous fools, share the the opinion that all whites must be brutally killed and their property stolen.

You have declared your intentions.

Thus, you give permission, by your choice of death, rather than peace, to anyone that is moderate, to now do the same to you.

Malema is an idiot, plain and simple and needs to be dealt with appropriately.

He claims he can find 10 songs that talk of the boers and how they brutalised people.. my challenge to him is to do so off the top of his head.
Changing the lyrics of the song to remove the "kill the boers" part doesn't make the song legal anymore since the song itself has been branded hate speech...,

Quick question. If he gets booted, does he also lose his VIP protection units? Or does he retain that in the same way as "top leaders" of the ANC would?
