Cape Town - ANCYL President Julius Malema visited dissatisfied households in a DA-led ward in Mitchell's Plain on Tuesday, promising residents relief from the City's "water management devices".

Malema listened to complaints about the devices, which critics have called "pre-paid water meters in drag".

"We know it is only the ANC that can deliver proper houses and proper water for our people," he told dozens of ANC supporters, who had been brought to the area in several taxis.

However, he failed to mention the ANC-led City of Johannesburg's own court battle to install controversial water meters in that municipality.

Scary thing is.... these voters will believe him as I believe they know no better...........

The best part about it was that the majority of those there came for the show (the venue was packed) - he even got some booing when he claimed Cape Town is a racist city - this after going on and on about how africans need to be installed in the University's management. Actually his whole speech was a contradiction - made for good entertainment though.
 
Ag, these "water meters" are a good idea. The poor just don't realise. It cuts them off when they can't afford more! If they didn't they would receive a massive bill at the end of the month, which they couldn't afford. And then what, complain that Cape Town is charging them too much for water?

All these b******ds want is free, free, free. Well, guess what, some of us work had to earn what we do! Not everything is handed to everyone on a silver platter. Either pay up or use the damn water restriction devices - for your own good.

As far as I know a by election is different from a national election? Not too sure though..On my understanding yes they would have to vote again.

Don't forget to add him saying Holomisa and Zille are Generals of Apartheid!

I went to the second "show", but it was pretty full of ANC supporters. I think it went better for him in Jameson. He got some boos but he was pretty angry about it and told non-comrades to walk if they don't want to hear 30 minutes of pure unchallenged rhetoric.

Those were apparently brought in with a few taxis to give him some crowd to talk nonsense too off a dustbin or whatever. You can easily tell who the locals are and there aren't many listening to him.

As far as I understand... the by-elections were for the municipalities...
and the by-election occurs when a seat in the Provincial Assembly becomes vacant at the municipality (ie floor crossing or desertion between general elections).

I could be wrong though... but its something like that :rolleyes:

EDIT: As for Malema... how come they don't advertise when the CIRCUS comes to town... would have been great to attend :D

Yup, great electioneering - that's how you win votes! I say give him a higher rank in the ANC, it can only serve to chase people off.

He also said that they want a three-thirds majority.

And that under Zuma, tertiary education will be free.

What an idiot.
