I don't know, its the only university in the country I know of that still segregated reses. I couldn't believe that when I heard it.

They don't as far as I know. If I'm not mistaken, the students just always chose their hostels in such a way since the chosen hostel has a rep for being Caucasian etc. Doubt anybody has ever been prevented from joining any of the hostels based on race.

The thing I don't understand.

Malema can say anything against whites, racist remarks, we need to be killed. And the best thing of all is that the idiots will stand next to him smiling and laughing but don't have a clue like himself - but they know they will get a new Mercedes soon.

If any white would go out and make similar comments he would be stamped as racist and thrown in jail by the 2 police men that still work in this country.

I saw carte blanche yesterday and can't understand why nobody is doing something against malema.
 
guyz i had the unfortunate priviledge of studying there, and i knew those women/mothers. And i dont think those mothers were randomly chosen. If any of you know the history/background to this than its not surprising at the outrage at Jansen's decision. I mean the timing of His appointment(when the university is supposedly undergoing transformation). That place is a shining example of racial prejudice and tension.I wonder if they have ever had a black PHD student. Are they trying to say we are all monkeys
 
hey guyz I studied @ that university, the situation there is really ***, And the burning question is why is Jansen forgiving those srudents when CLEARLY they are not remorsefull and as a matter of fact are incapable of being so. Asking a boere to not be racist is liking telling Malema to MIND HIS OWN BUSINESS and keep his mouth SHUT. Are you referring to UFS having black PhD students? If so, I have lots of friends and colleagues who are black, coloured, Kenyan, Pakistani and even a Korean who are doing PhD/post-docs.

and asking a black people not commit farm murders against defenceless old people is like asking Malema to shut his mouth.

I know lots of [-]Afrikaners[/-] BOERE that thought the behaviour of the students at Reitz were unacceptable and also condemned their actions. Also most Afrikaners are against the return of the AWB or any other white racist group.

Just like most of us know not all black people are killers and most of them condemn the farm killings :confused:
