A man died when he was attacked by a shark at Jeffreys Bay, in the Eastern Cape, on Friday morning, said the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI).

He was thought to have been attacked while snorkelling at 11.30am, said NSRI spokesman Craig Lambinon.

He had not yet been identified.

Thank fsck for that. Thought he was attacked while driving - that would've been a cause for concern.

Shark was confused for 2 because of the distance between the head and tail.

Good jaws on that shark though.

Wonder what the experts will say now?
Surfers are usually confused for seals.
Now a shark that grabbed and dragged a snorkeller out to sea? :wtf:

Not usual shark behavior.

RIP to the swimmer.
Chance we all take in the water.

Absolute classic bro :D.

yea for his friends and family it's sad but the rest of us we really don't give a shyte, just another dead human like the 10 million dead sharks we didn't hear about today. The one human though well yea shocking stuff to hear one died wow. Makes the 10 million brutally killed sharks seem like a side story.

I wonder what the odds are of a tagged shark attacking a human?

One would have to assume very low, it was just as a matter of interest post.

The Johnny's are everywhere, and this only represents a very small sample of one particular species that have in fact been tagged for research purposes.
If you follow the ones that have been tagged and acknowledge the distances they travel it often surprises people how regularly they frequent well known beaches/places that humans flock to for various water activities, 'without incident'!

Have surfed for over 20 yrs, **** happens ,,,,,,sometimes
