Man Shot robber in the back

People are killed for their shoes and mobiles. I see it as one less person that could get hold of a weapon on another attempt and rob me of a friend or family member. Share your sentiments with the family of those that have lost loved ones.

Like this 18-y/o kid. Believe it or not, but he has a family too, most likely.

I agree with you 100% Cathryn. The shooting was in no way self defense. Not acceptable. I find it amusing how people on this forum are so quick to point out how disgusting it is when somebody murders someone over a cellphone, when to all intents and purposes that just happened here too, but this time it's ok.

Would you shoot someone in the back, whilst running away; when...

#1 Robbed you of your mobile
#2 Killed your partner in cold blood
#3 Let it go because his back is turned

I agree 100% as well. This was not a case of self-defence, nor should people be calling for mass vigilante action such as this.

Whatever you chose, the law is not going to be on your side. So, if you make that choice, you need to be happy to be labeled a murderer and accept the consequences of your actions, just like the people you choose to condemn so.

Thank you. The legal eagle has spoken. Case closed :D

#1 no i will not
#2 Yes i will shoot him in the back, turn him around and put another 6 in him and say the front shots were the first.

I'd be shooting him to get my property back not necessarily to kill him. Perhaps I don't value the lives of thugs and thieves or as tolerant of them as some here but so be it.

Oh and Blue you're talking about killing somebody for their cell phone not for getting their property back.

Well either way the shooter did not have a phone in his possession until after he shot somebody.

i realise i might sound like a crazy man, but all this sympathy talk for criminals are pathetic. i have no sympathy for them, cos they have no sympathy for us. they think nothing to take things that we work our life for. then even take our lives/loved ones and get away with it and i'm supposed to feel sorry for these phuckers? no ways. the world is better off without these scumbags. had the guy not shot the criminal, by tomorrow this time he woulda robbed some other innocent person, or worse.

Agree with you there. However, when you lower yourself to their level saying that it is OK to murder someone who stole your cellphone, then you are no better than they are, and deserve similar scorn and vilification.

So it is right to shoot someone to get your cellphone back but not for him to shoot you to get it?

Obviously. It's your property. That's a million miles away from somebody shooting a person for something that is not their property.

If you're attacked by a group of thugs who steal your property and flee IMO you have every right to attempt to get it back. If that means shooting the thug and possibly killing him then so be it.

i don't think making the world a better place makes me like them. today it's cellphones, tomorrow it's a 2 year old.

Well, that is your opinion I suppose. Seems very barbaric to me, considering the civilized times in which we are meant to be living.

Would you advocate murder for any crime committed against you at all? Do you not think that is a little harsh? Imagine you were the one doing the stealing, for whatever reason...

#1 Robbed you of your mobile
#2 Killed your partner in cold blood
#3 Let it go because his back is turned

Step 2 in this argument changes everything and you can shoot to kill

That is the thing. There is a huge difference between things like murder and rape and simple theft. Suggesting that the punishment for all these crimes should be equally harsh is very difficult to justify.

In my opinion, when it comes to things like murder(especially in such completely unnecessary instances as house break-ins where the residents are completely compliant with the thieves) and repeated rape or child rape, I am morally not against having those people killed. The law is against it, but the law changes over time and is not failsafe.

Certainly, assuming that you were witness to the murder and it just happened. I thought he meant more like as a revenge killing for something that had happened previously.

o well he will go to jail and be raped over and over because of a stupid cellphone

he made the choice he must now live with it

aint going to be a pretty life for him now thats for sure

he will be a criminal just like the one he killed

I'm looking at the general circumstances of the crime. The fact the person was attacked in the street by thugs. IMO that innocent person has a right to get his property back even if it puts like criminal’s life at risk. But to that one must also add other circumstances. For example if it's a crowded area and other innocent people lives are exposed then obviously you don't have the right to shoot IMO.

All I'm saying is a person has a right to get his property back. I'm not saying you can blow a guys head off from point blank range over a cigarette  Obviously there are far better alternatives.

I don't think it's civilized if a innocent person can't take the necessary steps to defend his property. While the criminal enjoys protection from the law at the victim’s expense. I find that rather barbaric
