I'm looking at buying a manual push lawnmower for our teeny tiny patch of grass at the back of our townhouse (I estimate it at about 20cm2). I don't have a lot of space to store stuff, so that is why I thought this would be a good option.

Does anyone have experience with these mowers? I don't want to buy a piece of crap...

If you have decent upper body strength then it would be easy, and the one we have is rather good, it gets the job done.

I suggest you buy a weed eater, they are quite cheap, and just use that to cut the grass.

Flymo makes one that'll do the job okay. I did a proper sized lawn with one for at least one season, no problems. 20cm2? That's about the size of a box of matches - nail clippers could do the trick. :D

I got one from builders, they only have one brand. It works fine for small lawns and when the grass is not too long.

Takes up very little space, can also be used when there is no power and when kids are sleeping.

20cm[SUP]2[/SUP]? Get some nailclippers at Dischem? :p

Makro has a Ryobi on promo.

Health, Wealth, Leisure and Relationships - definitely in the wrong category.
Correct category, OP has a relation with his/her patch of grass and seeking advice on the relationship. :p

OP what is the layout of the patch ? 1cm * 20cm : 5cm * 4cm ? I suggest a pair of scissors. nail clippers may take too long.

Go for an electic trimmer, that size patch almost any model/make will do.

Wow that Ryobi has a grass catcher.
Mine did not a F have that.
The grass just gathered on your feet and all over the lawn
You imagine mowing 800m2 of lawn and then raking it up after.
NEVER AGAIN!!!

Go to a specialist mower outlet.

Best service, advice and products. They don't sell cheap crap that you get at Game or Makro.

I have a Ryobi for my 2x3m lawn. Works really well - I don't even attach the grass catching bag thing, I leave it as compost. Really easy to push.

Also, the main advantage of a push mower is that it actually cuts the grass instead of ripping the grass the way other mowers do.
