Mark Lamberti Resigns from Eskom Board

AffirmativeAction or 'Transformation' as you people like to call it, will lead you to civil war and death. Wait another decade or so until Malema comes to power and then you'll see the real transformation. Enjoy.

Some things starts getting old after a while, this ^^ is one of those.

the position she applied for to work there, was it advertised as an ee or aa position, is wat i was asking. nothing to do with because someone is some colour therefor its ee or aa.

and just btw, because ee and aa or what ever does exist, seeing someone of colour thats in a position, does raise the question of merit. if ee or aa did not exist, there could be no question. it would be the same if there was a quota for gingers..

The question of merit would not be raised if the AA candidate was a white woman.

nono, if the ee or aa stuff were for white people, white people in positions would be questioned.

this is simple human nature

White women have benefited all these years from AA, why is it all the time when there are such cases it's always black women whose abilities are being questioned and treated with suspicion as if they are not qualified?

so you change to sexism, yet they are questioned too.

preschool/playground politics, if someone gets a head-start they are cheating.

If I were to give you the correct answer you'll fail to grasp/understand/acknowledge it. When confronted by the obvious you resort in doing what you usually do.
Your problem is: natural laws can not be broken. Blame God or Darwin for that. If you try to break them you pay. And the new South Africa is trying hard. And they will pay big time. The writing is on the wall. But it is written in a language most South Africans do not understand. #SoSad

That's not the point though if you read the judgement. They hired a less qualified CFO overlooking her each turn & the utterance suggests she was overlooked simply because she is a black woman despite the fact that she'd essentially been doing the job over the years they kept changing CFOs. Maybe they initially brought her in as an EE candidate but the selection process makes clear they ensured she could do the job - otherwise they should have just asked the tea lady to fill in (which some companies apparently do).

I fail to understand most of your posts anyway, don't bother.

yeah the thing is, if its true, then hes guilty of being an as**ole. if not its slander. is what i was wondering about.

but yeah seems he is a unique kind of tit if hes less qualified than her. lol epic fail.

The logic is they're quota players by virtue of their skin colour regardless of ability. Which ironically is the motivation for why we need to keep continuing with EE as racists still equate colour with ability.

Are only the racists or does it go deeper than that? If it is only the racist than it is easy to fix. Mind you, Liberia must be full of racist.

Not true, wife was overlooked for position although she was best candidate for the position by interviewing panel.
National body sent back response that she should not be given post and that candidate with less experience (which would also skip 2 levels) be given position.

Manager thought that this would be unacceptable and illegal and decided to close the post.

Today everybody is treated with suspicion, if it is private company you got position because you were connected/family and if it is government than it is AA.

At the end good candidates of any color suffer.

Pretty certain people have anecdotes of their own. I have numerous involving acquaintances and other random people.

Nope. That was his way of abusing you. And you've probably been abused before, that's why you can take it lying down, then come on the internet and pretend to be a tough guy.

iLaughed. Keybord tough guy but a chicken at work. Lol

People don't mention something important with this story. Lamberti's boss, a black guy, is the one who rejected the grievance of this lady and then ended up approving her disciplinary action.

IMO poorly skilled leadership often leads to corruption in the lower echelons.

Just look at the ANC. Although that is a poor example, in the recent past there was corruption and lack of skills at all levels.

You are mistaken. The ANC is extremely skilled at stealing and plundering!

I don't know how you define weak but what that woman did is very brave.

I was commenting on zippy's comment on dekana's story.

As for Chowan vs Imperial.... I'm in two minds. I do think was oversensitive to the racial comments made, especially within the context wrt the AA candidate thing, as rude as it was. On the other hand, summarily suspending and then dismissing her after she raised an issue deserves to get them some proper pain.
