Marmite. Yay or Nay?

Britain are in a "Marmite War" with it's maker Unilever. Unilever want to put the price up on Marmite and all their products by 10% due to the drop in value of the pound due to Brexit promoting Tesco to pull it from their shelves creating a shortage.

Now since this has become newsworthy I've seen a few "taste test" videos floating about on places like BuzzFeed and have seen them in the past even on the Jimmy Fallon show, but with Vegemite. And in every comment section you see fellow Marmite lovers always saying the same thing that they are doing it wrong.

They first off take a new jar which I always think tastes stronger when just opened then they spread it on cold toast and spread the stuff like peanut butter. If you cover sushi in wasabi or drench it in soy sauce of course it's not going to taste great. Marmite at it's best is with hot toast, butter then a little bit of marmite and spread as they melt.

Marmite is fine enough, I won't say no to it on toast but Chilli Bovril is my Fav. On warm toast that's been dipped into tea has been a favorite forever I think. Although I think I did this with Marmite toast as a kid.

My mom would make marmite tea when we got sick. Just a spoon of marmite in a cup of boiling water, warm and with a plain slice of white bread. Was brilliant actually.

Very good for you when you have been ill and are dehydrated

Would love to try this "stronger taste" sheesh

Go through about 2 a month. Thinly spread on toast or white bread with lots of marge. They had marmite peanuts awhile back. Man I loved those.

My wife introduced a meme that has proliferated to large parts of my extended family: When having fried or scrambled egg on toast, spread the toast with Marmite. No need for salt.

So entrenched is this practice that even when breakfasting at hotels I first ask if they have Marmite before ordering egg on toast.
