Marriage proposal - Any good ideas?

Hahahaha, thanks for all the sharing guys and ladies.

Perhaps on Monday I will have a clearer idea of what I want to do.
 
Did mine in the planetarium. While she was looking at the stars etc, a presentation came onto the screen and BAM!

haha, yes quite risky. But by the time we were done I made her understand that it was her Sisters' fault for telling her before I got to pop the question. So I cleverly deflected her displeasure away from me. As much as I love my sisters-in-law I hate them for screwing up my original plan, it was going to be awesome.

I pretty much did the same.

Took her to a nice restaurant and couldn't say anything and just gave her the ring.

A friend of ours did a spectacular thing.

At the graduation of my mate's gf she was called on stage and a video started playing on the projector with photos and clips of them. Then he walked onto the stage and proposed.
 
Helicopter ride eh. Might as well make it the 'combat mission' flight in the Huey ;)
 
Ok so after a a discussion with a friend it seems that the helicopter idea is still on the table. There is also an idea of a yacht dropping us off at Dassen Island for a night or two's stay.
 
Be creative don't ask the panel for advice it needs to come within your heart what you want to do as a wedding proposal.

First thing is first:
Does she like materialistic stuff ? If that is the case then you go overboard with the helicopter idea but that is way over the top.

Book a cruise ship during December - January, propose to her on new year day or alternatively have a table ready waiting at the beach, propose to her there :)

Be creative not going to give you my proposal ideas have the best 1 ever.

OP, I see you have a lot of reputation on here I am sure your other half knows you on mybroadband, imagine her viewing this thread, your plans will be spoiled!

She is not on myBB :) and my creativity only goes as far as what exotic beer to try next.
 
I rented a yacht for the two of us and we had a champagne breakfast while on board, after which I slipped the ring into her glass and then pretended to drop something on the floor so that I could get on one knee and ask the question.

Haha, well as was expected (she moved to Cape Town from Gauteng to join me here after two years long distance relationship) she said yes. But at first she thought that I might be making a joke until I told her to look in her glass :D

She said: "YES!" :D

I told her she must just give me a date and a time. I want her to plan her perfect wedding and I will just tel her if something is not going to happen ie. six brides maids and six grooms men :D
