Marshmallow (Android 6.0) and Banking authentication

I have escalated this issue to LG Support by sending them a support request email. Their port of the latest version of the Android O.S. must have a software glitch. Forgot to cross their 't' or dot their 'í'. LOL

I will keep this thread updated as I receive feedback ...

I heard rumors awhile ago that ABSA will not work (correctly) on rooted devices, can this be one of those situations?

the old absa app works on my rooted marshmallow phone.

the new app doesn't.

It's not the G4 beat... Surecheck worked fine until I got upgraded to marshmallow. Its the OS.

I don't think it's the OS, but rather a permission that's needed.

Just upgraded from Samsung S3 to ZTE Axon 7 - using same SIM.
I am running the unmodified factory Android 6.0.1 and ABSA SureCheck pop-up is not working.
Tried with LineageOS 14.1 (Android 7.1.2) and ABSA SureCheck pop-up not working.
Before you ask, phone is not rooted, and USSD work fine.

Q. Is there a permission that needs to be granted to allow SureCheck popups?

Any suggestions?
