Who would have thought, hey?Massive ADSL cable theft in Mitchells Plain
Openserve has reported a major incident of copper cable theft in Eisleben Road, Portland in the Mitchells Plain area.
The company said that on 12 December 2019, multiple cables of varying lengths were stolen in the area.
I am a resident of Mitchells Plain and i find it quite hard to believe that there was ADSL cables stolen in Portlands on Eisleben Road. Telkom has the maintenance facility and another massive building that is 3.6 km apart on Eisleben Road. All there conduits run on the left hand side of that road. Which is under pavement and under the road.
So did they dig up this cable, Also this is a very busy road, e.g Street drags , A fast food Deli. Something is fishy
And for extra confusion you can't tell the difference between an actual Telkom/Openserve contractor and cable thief these days, they all look the same. They don't dig up the cable. One guy cuts the cable from one manhole and it gets pulled from the other end out.

I wonder if Telkom/Openserve even knows who is who when everyone is out on the field close to a manhole with work gear and a bakkie.
Guy please.... There was nothing dugged up. I drive on that stretch of road everyday. Another thing i dont need you educating me on how they do cable theft. They don't dig up the cable. One guy cuts the cable from one manhole and it gets pulled from the other end out.
I have to ask, how do you do it then?Guy please.... There was nothing dugged up. I drive on that stretch of road everyday. Another thing i dont need you educating me on how they do cable theft.
