Massive increase in Telkom mobile subscribers

Telkom has released its annual results for the year ended 31 March 2019, showing a huge increase in the number of mobile users on its network.

The results revealed that mobile service revenue up 58.3% for the period, reaching R8.15 billion. Mobile revenue contribution has now increased from 3.2% to 25.7% for the company.

Is the numbers being artificially inflated 'cos no-one can cancel their services?

Last thing I remember, I was
Running for the door
I had to find the passage back to the place I was before
'Relax' said the night man,
'We are programmed to receive.
You can check out any time you like,
But you can never leave!'

I like their 500MB data bundle that only expires after 6 months for R69.

Mobile is actually very good at the whole process.

I had the Uncapped LTE service for about 4 years, and then when I moved to Fibre, I simply clicked to cancel the service, and the next month it was gone from my bill. No mess, no fuss.

:crying:

Why can't the rest of their company take that cue?

Best value proposition out there. Moved my long term MTN contract to them last month to a R499 Freeme 20GB. I’m past the days where I need a new phone every two years. Will move my other MTN contract to TELKOM as well in December unless there’s some kind of drastic turn around from MTN. Tired of picking up the bill for MTN’s expansion into Africa and thier dodgy dealings!

Another thing. Not sure what has happened there or maybe I’ve just been lucky, but in terms of interactions it’s has been a long time since I have experienced such polite customer service agents. Chalk and cheese compared to the MTN retentions agent that “tried” to retain my business. Complacency is the kiss of death as they say.

I'll probably move to Telkom Mobile in due course. They simply provide the best value at the moment.

- FreeMe: R100pm for 1GB data, unlimited Telkom calls, free instant messaging
- FreeMe Voice: R100pm for 300 all-net minutes

That's the most insane R200pm contract I've seen if they let you combine options like that.

Telkom in Past 2 days have been acting up for me.. I've been roaming on MTN unable to use their network....

As fare as I know all of their smart phones are dual-sim!

This factor got them my business.

The other service providers only sell single sim, sim locked phones.

Telkom mobile is good. Glad they are moving to Vodacom for roaming. MTN's service to Telkom sucked. Their FreeMe packages are very good.
