Exactly my issue now.

I always have a healthy reserve of voice airtime, for incase. That is now not possible. Instead, you will lose what is not used within 60 days.

Crap. I still have four months left on my contract. I also have my data with Afrihost. Best option? Move to different service provider or go to prepaid and still use Afrihost for data?

Yikes !! just checked now. Mine increased from R110 to R120 !! Have not upgraded in about 8 years.
But still have R659 airtime available (accumulated).

If MTN unilaterally amend the terms of contracts do they offer their customers the opportunity to cancel it without incurring any penalties?

NOT only the price increase but a new default tariff that charges R1.50 per minute where the current one charges R0.79 per minute.... WOW

You can also just change to the MTN Pay Per Second price plan. Still available and I'm sure it will stay but they trying to trick people that port into prepaid by putting them on a expensive tariff by default and hope they stay on it to make money.

Sorry that is just wrong from them. Vodacom has been doing this forever and I feel it's just wrong.

Still don't understand how terms of a signed contract can be changed. What about people who've just signed up and have 2 years to go on inflated prices.
