Matrix 4 gets a release date

Finally got around to watching M4:

My take...
Good:
Decent enough CG effects.
Neo doesn't get shafted as badly as I thought might the case looking at the trailer.
Wokeism kept to a bare minimum.
Attempts to at least be somewhat self aware of what it is (could also be listed as con).

Bad:
A terrible, convoluted story that really does nothing to add to the IP.
Pondering pacing.
Fight choreography was sorely lacking
Too many new characters thrown into the mix with no character development to speak of.
Too much goofiness messing with the tone (seriously what is it with movies of late trying so hard to shoehorn this into everything?).
 
So... I watched this last night and I sure had a chuckle at something, but not due to the reasons some would believe.

Focus group discussion, the product development section, around 22 minutes in. I have to ask, how you get your panties in a twist?

Not a bad movie, IMHO, 7/10. Not better than Equilibrium.

I also don't see The Matrix end here, they have opened-up so much to be explored now that derivatives are a likelihood. Matrix also came very close here to mind meld with The Terminator.

So many new characters that it they could have almost done it without Keanu.
Between the rehashed old footage, bad fight scenes and terrible acting. I could only think of Bill and Ted's face the music every time I saw Keanu. :(

sweet zombie jesus what an unadulterated steaming pile of shyte did I just watch?!?

- pretty sure cutting every verbatim flashback from the prior movies would reduce the running time by a good 20 minutes
- the cheesy references to prior movies regurgitated by new characters would easily shave another 30 minutes off the running time
- wtf is up with the generally bright colourful theme? where's the tried and tested dark grimy apocalypse? ... the brady bunch version of the Matrix ... /vomit
 
When did we last see a really positive review?

There are only 3 Matrix movies. A 5th attempt may follow. /done
 
The movie was horrible. Should have stopped 30minutes into it. Nothing positive to say about this movie. Only thing I can compare the experience to is watching Mr Bean destroy Whistlers Mother’s painting.
