Anyone know of any good 22' deals? So far the best I have found is the Samsung 2232GW at for R2550 at PC international, the matte version is about R100 cheaper.
How about the 2232GW for R2499 on my site

I have just bought four Samsung 2232GW's.....I use them for my video edit desks. They are glossy and the reflection is almost un noticible. The clarity is amazing, I didnt like the mat finnish...colours are dull imo.

This is one of them...not running dual sceens as I was before I got the new screens as there is quite a bit of real estate on these ones. I might do it later though. The decks are all locked away....hidden from view, as there are some scallywag dudes the copy my workflow ideas...![]()
PC Zones has a LG 22" for R2099. . .
...LG makes microwaves . Buy proper brands if your going for an LCD![]()
To be honest, 99% of the people here who voted for Matte have most proberbly never owned a Gloss monitor in their lives. I Bought a fancy 2232GW about a week after it was released and heres what I have to say from my own personal experiance...
1. Even if you sit in front of a window, the samsung 22" range tends to be so bright that it outshines 90% (Not ALL) reflections. In fact.. shine a spotlight on in in broad daylight and I reckon you will still have crystal clarity
2. Color seems to be 1,000,000 times better on a glossy than a matte. I moved from SA 2 months ago and had to sell my gloss screen. Incredibly enough you cannot find a new decent 2232GW anywhere in America so I had to settle with the gay matte new ToC series.
3. Glossy seems to better for your eyes. With matte screens you sit and stare for hours on end at the same distance of screen and you'r eyes become accustomed to that and you wind up with a headache and sore eyes. With Gloss there is a small amount of reflection for you to unknowingly focus on every now and then which moves the muscles in your eyes and prevents them from slacking and becoming useless with time.
Anyways.. to cut a long wall-of-text short. I would definatley take the Gloss. keep in mind that this is a comparison between two different models of samsung monitors. I am not sure about the other brands out there and wish you luck with your new monitor... once you go 22" you never go back![]()
