Hi, I am currently on a 4mbps account and would really like to upgrade to at least 8mbps. According to the exchange search I am connected to the following:
http://www.broadbandstats.co.za/exchange/WBLX

Which looks like it supports maximum 4mbps. My router however shows the following on it's stats screen:

The max rate down indicates 9024kbps. What I would like to know is if there is anyway I can get Telkom to connect me to a different exchange that supports a higher speed? I have noticed that there are a number of 10mbps enabled exchanges in the Bellville and Durbanville area.

On the Openserve coverage map it show you are in a 20Mbps area. Across the road is 40Mbps and on the other side is 4Mbps. It will depend on exactly which distribution point Openserve will use to supply your specific service.

MickeyD, you sir are my hero. I was put in contact with a specialist that picked up a fault at the exchange I connect to. It has been resolved and now I am on 8meg :) Just goes to show how useless Telkom's normal customer facing support channels are.

MickeyD you can't light the same fire with OpenServe for my pending issue?
