Maxtor HDD

Hey guys,

Anyone know the new number of the Seagate/Maxtor warranty guys (They used to be called Storgate in Midrand, they are now sitting at Linbro Park)

Got 16kb of bad sectors on my 160gb drive, and the PowerMax util only runs in dos, anyone know of a windows equivalant?

Download UBCD, write it to CD, boot off that, and run Seagate diagnostics.

Or download Hiren's Boot Disc. Also has Seagate diagnostics.

If the drive is under warranty, screw trying to fix it, send it in to be swopped out!

Just make sure u wipe your "stuff" properly first.

another problem, i for now only have a laptop, so its an external drive, will UBCD / hiren pick up usb, i seem to doubt it?
