Mbeki blocks Telkom CEO

Not sure what to make of this - especially since the Dementia of Communistications would be in charge of """compiling""" such a report, and guavamentalists have a 60% majority amongst Telkodemonopolies' 10 board members - and are likely to have issued Moletsane with a resign or be fired ultimatum.

I suspect that the Moletsane """resignation""" report has probably already been written by some Smutsy person, but Poison Ivy's standing orders to quaff down doughnuts & drag her feet, still stand - maybe that should be reclining orders...

So, why is Mbeki running scared all of a sudden that he feels the need to have a whitewash report """compiled""" by his pets Poison Ivy & Stalin-Mafole? - there has to be more to this whole telecoms soapie...

It is incredible that the pResident can interfere in the running of a supposedly private company, even though the guvment has such a large stake in it.

The DOC has completely lost the plot, guvment too for that matter.

I have absolutely no idea why Mr President would be playing a role in this at all.
Spoze it does prove that Teklom is still a parastatal.
Which natrually means the governmint is still to blame.
Makes me wonder who's idea the rolling blackouts is, and the process of area selection for these blackouts.

OTOH Mbeki might really be innocent of the whole matter and it was his pets Ivy and Stalin-Malofe who have taken the initiative to conduct several shenanigans behind his back?

Interesting... let them simmer in their own stew, brings out the flavour.

Just another instance of MBeki interfering with business and other things that dont concern him. He probably doesnt like September, so he doesnt get to play with the toys, we know how MBeki doesnt like criticism... It is worrying though that he's throwing his weight around to swing things his way... *insert Robert Mugabe ideals*

F'up country this...Communistic through and through...In the olden days the Private Sector was the guys making the money ( obviously )....today its the Government...And if you think about it, what is a Government without a Private Sector??

TIA, private companies are a mere technicality to them, they're too steeped in Marxist doctrine to realise things might be out of their control. Of course if he can interfere so easily it means that all his speeches about lowering telecoms costs mean nothing because he could've done this at any time, as stoke says:

We noticed by chance that the areas hit by blackouts are rich areas and not poor areas.

Might be mistaken tho.

It definitely seems to be that way, the ANC obviously knows where their voter's don't live.

its kinda confusing tho.. last time they were question why they can't directly force prices down the excuse of it being a private company came up.. now this blocking and the DoC interventions are becoming more evident.

Just out of curiosity, does Thabo know what his phone bill is/costs?
We know his minister, by her own admission, does not have a clue.

The 'hammer and sickle' have no place in telecoms liberalisation.

lol. TIA. You must have seen blood diamond because thats the only time I've ever heard anybody use the acronym TIA.

Lol I actually heard it first on the forum, then saw it later on Blood Diamond. :D

It cannot be a coincidence that Mbeki is publicly throwing his weight around and trying to blame Reuben September for Moletsane's departure, just ahead of Telkodemonopolies announcing its [-]financial results[/-] profiteering - which we already know has dropped quite substantially - we're just waiting to find out exactly by how much, which suggests that Mbeki does not like Reuben September and wants to get rid of September - maybe Mbeki's racism is rearing its head again, or maybe Mbeki feels he needs another patsy that will do his bidding & September perhaps doesn't fit the bill, who knows...

I wouldn't be surprised if it was racism, probably on Ivy's side too, especially considering her "people that look like me" comment a while ago.

It all makes me wonder whether government would actually allow a Telkom sale to MTN, they seem to like having it under their control.

'Telkom said its aggressive marketing — whereby bundled services were offered at discounts'... aww aren't we lucky to such such discounts? Actually, I must be partially sighted, 'cos I did see 'em... briefly! Weren't worth remembering though. Shame, poor Telkom having to suffer such humungous loss doing us all a favour! A 'get-well' card is in the post!

Mbeki worried about less dividends to sponsor the next election?

Sorry ANC pigs but it appears as if the feeding frenzy is coming to an end.

September to finally be found out

September engineered every executive's exit from Telkom since 2005 , to make way for himself. Plus there is a huge dossier doing its rounds about him and unholy relationship with big telecoms suppliers. Every one is afraid to confirm him, in case the dossier hits headlines. (believe Beeld has it though)
