remember...they had to budget for the corruption and all the tools and stuff that will get stolen, and in the end to hire another company to finish the job as the ex-minister's company will probably bugger it up (and all the bergies will be able to camp on Mbeki's lawn) :D
 
I will just wait for the DA to go ask a parliamentary question to the Public works department and then we will know exactly how much it will cost.

I didn't mean to imply you where lying but who ever has come up with R90 million for a wall is talking out of their @ss.... I just don't believe it...

Maybe it is going to cost R2 million with reinforced metal innards which is over the top but believable. R90m... cr@p.

What really grates me on this is that the contractors have been sworn to secrecy. The taxpayer is paying for this (it is part of security which is footed by the taxpayer). Where the hell is the transparency? We're paying for this damn wall, we should know what the hell we're paying for it and why. There is, after all, no out of control crime in the country - it's only a perception.

Yeah, Lagavulin Single Malt certainly seems to be flowing in the presidential private jet.

I can't see any actual facts in the story, and still struggle to believe that a wall could cost R90 million.

Mbeki better prepare himself for another visit from Douglas Gibson :eek:

90 million is nuts. But even if it's 2 millions it's still too much money for a freaking wall! :mad:

There's clearly no accountability anymore, they'll probably claim "national security" or similar as grounds for the secrecy, waiting to see the DA's response now too.

This is what I think happened. The DA kicked up a ruckus last time when it was alleged that the retirement house for Mbeki was gonna cost however many millions. So Mbeki and his wife sat down and said: "You know what! Let's build a wall - but it must cost more than the DA's entire budget. That will show them. ****ers."

Yeah, that's how it went down.
 
Mbeki should @#$^$ move into Dainfern which is supposed to be a "safe & secured" community. I'd not be surprised when he gets held at gun point during dinner time cuz that's what happened to my family yesterday. And for a $^#$ wall? You can freaking buy the whole freaking Dainfern Valley instead! These guys really need to wake up and see the sight at the end of the gun barrel.

Mbeki is bloody scared of all the crime and **** happening in the country, that he and his party is failing to control or bring down...with our "wonderful" human rights centered constitution and Affirmative Action bringing the legal, police, military and all other government departements (except SARS, they need to take our money to build walls and racist war memorials) falling to pieces...
so his solution is to build a nice big wall around his house and just shut it all out...its pathetic
 
A wall can't possibly cost R90 million. But it doesn't matter anyway, the government doesn't answer to the public so if he wanted a R90 million wall he would get it.

Well then they should catch a wake-up! CEO of a company I know(100% black owned), her father was an ANC activist in the old days, so he recommended she contact his old struggle buddies who were since connected in gov and all, for potential BEE contracts. The one's she got hold of were all asking for kickbacks, so she refused to do business with them. I don't think they support the ANC anymore because they see what the ANC really stand for now...
