Cape Town - Disgraced former metro police chief Robert McBride has been recommended by Police Minister Nathi Mthethwa as the new head of the Independent Police Investigative Directorate, Business Day reported on Tuesday.

McBride was fired as Ekurhuleni metro police chief after crashing his car and was charged with drunken driving and trying to defeat the ends of justice.

Mthethwa had sent a letter to Parliament requesting that the relevant committee confirm or reject McBride’s nomination.

The Ipid conducts investigations of identified criminal offences allegedly committed by members of the police

This is just more of the ANC's trolling.
Seriously this guy has less scruples than a Mexican drug lord.
 
It's the normal line of progression in the cANCer.
It also shows how great Mthethwa is.
 
Surely you can't be in charge of the IPID if you have such serious allegations (was he ever convicted?) levelled against you...

If he has a criminal record, then I'm pretty sure he can't be IPID head...
