McDonalds - Cinnamon Melts

I can clone a cinnabon. No big deal. The clone recipe was on the web some years ago and the clever people who came across it downloaded it before it was removed from Google I ate the clone before I ate the real thing and honestly I couldn't tell the difference aside from temperature as Cinnabon don't let theirs sit all day. If anyone wants a link to the best clone pm me. It's not hard work . I served it funny enough one of the first things I ever baked at someone;s birthday party and people went wild. I never made them again because they are the devils tools and I value my waistline (well I did once)

I keep checking back in this thread, hoping that HH would have posted the recipe by now.

Just google it - there are loads of recipes.

Here is my wife's recipe....

Cinnamon Rolls:

1 Get 1 kilo bread dough from Spar or Pick N Pay
2. Roll it out into a rectangular shape...you can roll out to 1/2 - 1 cm thick.
3. Take soft margarine and using a spoon smear marg all over the bread dough...I spread quite thick.
(Leave the top 1cm of Bread dough with out marg so that once rolled you can pinch dough together and it will stick.
4. pour/sprinkle brown sugar onto the marg till you do not see the marg anymore. (at LEAST a cup...possibly two)
5. Sprinkle cinnamon over the brown sugar.
6. Roll the dough to the top where you did not smear marg.
7. Cut into 1 cm thick slices.
8. Put into a baking dish or roster pan so that sides of the cinnamon roll dough is touching each other. This will help them to rise upward.
9. Let sit for 20 minutes if you want to rise.
10. Bake 180 +- 25 minutes.

Once baked, you can make a struesel topping for them.
1 1/2 cups Icing Sugar
1 tlbspoon melted marg
1 tsp vanilla
Enough milk to make a thick but slighly "runable" mixture off a spoon.
Streusel it over the cinnamon rolls. ENJOY!

Or would it be less effort (and better for your waistline) to go and get a cinnabon at the store?
I'm planning a detour to Cresta this afternoon for a large Chocobon.
Who's joining me?

How is it any better for your waistline?

Unless you mean the difference between eating only one at the Mall or eating the whole tray at home.
But pound for pound I assure you the ones at the Mall are no more healthy.

My wife loves Cinnabon but she swears the McDonald's one is even better.

I can't tell the difference. McDonald's is just so much more convenient.

PS my wife is very toned and slim, in case I conjured up a different image of her by my first statement...
