Thanks, that helped - of course then one does not know how much BB compresses its data. I found an app that I might try, will let know on its performance - Data Monitor - would also be nice to see the split between Wi-fi, 3G, etc. This should be standard on the phone - my wife has a Nokia 5800 that does it, why not the tope end Torch?
It does, the above post told you how, every phone has that function somewhere and they all track overall usage, that nokia tells how much data been used since either:
A)the day it was first activated
B)the day you last reset the counter.
Same with blackberries, samsung, motorola, makes no dif what software it uses. Probably like 1 in a thousand people actually care about stats like that as you can see it on your bill.
We are 1 of the few countries that offer a true "uncapped" BIS service.
Personally I use minimoni, it however is extremely basic and resets the counter monthly so unless you check at the end of the month you won't see an exact figure but you can get a good enough idea as chances are your going to check at least close to the end.
For me personally, the. "Am I getting my money's worth question" I pretty mute, when I had OS5 with mini moni I could estimate at least 150-300mb per month, now with OS6 and 3G I knocked off 250mb during breakfast. Put down bout 150 last night setting the phone back up as its a refurb and then just before I sent it in I downloaded SP1 for win 7 and that was over 900mb so my BIS paid for itself and then some in the 1st 3 days of this month already.
I would like something less basic than minimoni, at least something that would store the data past the end of the month, even if it reset the counter for the month, there is no place in minimoni to check a previous monthhs usage.
I checked appworld for that app you mentioned and saw nothing I had not tried and deleted already, can you post a link?
Can you please tell me from what sites you download the stuff like SP1? Would like to do it as well. Been searching for a place but could not find one. Thanx

Randomly wondering around appworld I just found something in beta that monitors all trafic and seperates them with a whole bunch of other features. Looks to be exactly what you and I are looking for and will give you both wifi and network data measures unlike minimoni and the handset that just does the network.
