Hi members. I am seriously considering to purchase the Mecer SOL-I-BB-M2L inverter trolley. This the 2kW 25.6V 100Ah Li-ion unit. Has anyone on this forum purchased one of these? If so, what are your experiences thus far?

Closely related to SOL-I-BB-M1L. Quality control seems to be an issue. Some people myself included have had no problems (so far). Others have one or more of:

1. Faulty battery SoC display - % drops to zero even while charging. There is a firmware/calibration fix for this available.
2. Random shutdowns on transfer (when loadshedding starts, the unit turns off). Bad if you are relying on UPS functionality.
3. Random undocumented triple-beep that doesn't seem to correspond to any error state. Minor but possibly annoying.

See: Powerforum thread and another myBB thread

Bottom line is you are taking your chances unfortunately. Those of us with none of the issues are happy.

This is true, but it's been about 5 months now, and it seems to have outgrown all glitches. It does however no longer show 100% charge, and always shows charging animation.

This is believed to be the uncalibrated SOC display, and does not affect performance.

If I had the cash, I'd buy the M2L. And if I had to do it over again I'd buy the M1L again.

Don't have a 2l but do have a Mecer SOL-I-BB-M1L and also have a Mecer Lobo 1440w

I looove my Mecer SOL-I-BB-M1L and it does exactly what I needed it for which is power on the go. ie: when I go camping or need power on site or when Eskom decides to cut my power for days and I need to keep the freezer cold.

So would say depends on what you wanna use it for. These units make for great Portable power Stations but are kinda sucky for perm use cause:
  • Fans are on 24/7,
  • Random beeps at night,
  • Sometimes fails on switchover.
If you looking for something that stays on I would rather recommend a proper Inverter + 24V LFP trolly.
