Mede8er vs PlayOn!HD

In terms of UI, which one is better? From the screenshots it looks like the Mede8er pulls movie information where as the PlayOn does not?

Most will pull movie information but you will have to use software to organise and create the information, the info is pulled from the web and stored on your player.

Seeing that I can by 2 Mede8ers or 3 PlayOns for the price of the DuneHD (not the max), I do not think it is appropriate to be mentioned in this thread, unless you want us to laugh at the price you are paying?

Neither have a built in BLURAY player or capabilities to connect to multicast streams via satellite.... That's why I bought it... ok it might be a bit expensive for some of you but it is a solid player all the rest are the same thing in a different chassis. I figured if a buy a Mede8er and a blu-ray it works out the same price anyway plus now I can receive free to air satellite on the player as well.

As far as the interface goes its full hd and quite easy to customise it.

how accessible are these in terms of installing own OS that kind of thing?

Itis a STB so it is not accessible - it is not a PC.... but you do have some say in features and upgrades...
