Mega 105WR ADSL Router

I see that my router is not syncing at 8MB. Can the Telkom router Mega 105WR handle 8MB?

Firstly are you on one of the exchanges which has been upgraded to the 8 - 12 MB Profile. If so, logon to your router and make sure that it is set to ADSL2+ and not just normal ADSL

I have the same Telkom modem/router. My question regarding this is:

I find the range of the WiFi to be extremely poor. Have any of you used boosters or other devices to get better range, and if so what do you recommend?

hehe there is some great ways to boost the signal I would say get an antenna. Or to mount the device on a wall (and not behind your pc in the corner desk) I believe thickness of walls, floors etc will have an effect.
you can also
1. Move closer to your wifi source.
2. Move your wifi source closer to you
3. Install additional wifi sources closer to you
4. Connect to your wifi source with a cable
5. Lower your standards for higher signal

I gots a mega 100 no issues in my 3 year stint with it :wtf:
as for the OP I dont think mega supports adsl 2+ but will check tonight and report back

p.s. I relise that ppl are gonna notice that I said it might not support adsl 2 + and then say fail
but until 8 meg line is the norm this router rocks ok :twisted:

If you only use it for internet, Set the thing to 802.11b only. You only get 11meg (still way more than your DSL speed), but the transmission is / should be better.

I used to use one of these routers, I found it to work very well (go far)

is "ADSL2+" the same as "ADSL2plus"? if so, then yes the mega105WR supports it. advanced>WAN>ADSL Modulation from the router's control panel to get to the settings... it appears to be enabled by factory default, so chances are your exhange isn't ready for 8 meg yet. they did say they're aiming for March/April for everything to be done

Using a Mega 100 which is older and getting 10mb sync...works like a charm.
