Megashare, Rapidshare etc

Apparently they work quite well, if you buy an account. I've heard of people paying for Rapidshare subscriptions, but haven't used it myself. Torrents are working well for me.

Are you able to search for content on these sites? Or do you have to get the link from another site?
 
they work far better and i ussually get full line speed
 
Which one do you guys recommend?
megashares seems good and that offer of R29 for 6 months, there's also one $20 for 4 months.

Its nice if you have uncapped. Cause you can search there for what you want. that is actually not a bad deal I must say. that is super cheap. :)
 
I use Rapidshare. R700 odd per year for a premium account. Works very well for me!!!
 
I use Hotfile, and love it! Costs more or less the same as the other file sharing sites. I queue all my downloads in Mipony and off it goes!
 
Rapidshare works well for me get full line speed from it

It costs about R70 per month

For that price you get 5 gigs per day allowed downloads.

You can also topup the bandwidth which costs about R100 for 100 gigs

The only problem with them are they are quite good at removing pirated stuff off there servers so lots of stuff gets removed but there are so many people hosting things that if you look around you will find it

Yes this is a cap killer

I have also never gotten a virus from there or not gotten what was what was lister

Rapidshare FTW, been using it for near 2 years, only restriction is I think 60GB per week if I remember, to be honest never came anywhere near it.
 
rapidshare ftw, and why do pay if the interw3bz is full of free premium accounts?

My friend in the UK hits that every couple of days or so :p

Yeah back in the day when I used Rapidshare I never had any issues with it.
Full line speed and no viruses ever encountered.
 
I used to use rapidshare a few years ago when it was about 15gb a day you could download, I cancelled my account when they lowered the daily cap as it wasn't worth it anymore.

Megaupload is probably the best around also because they have megaupload movies which allows you to stream or download thousands of movies/tv series etc. that's where I put my money nowdays at least.

That's the only reason why I've always been reluctant to use rs or megaupload, since there's no way (that I know of) to determine whether the big file you're about to download, is actually what is reflected in the filename.

With torrents you have the advantage that the site you're downloading it from usually has a Comments section where people will quickly post a comment if there's something wrong with the file, or if it's fake etc. I find that very helpful since you can then avoid a long download which will waste your cap.

Well I've never heard of that being an issue.

There are forums out there which enforce posters to show screenshots of what they're uploading/sharing and people's comments after would always also tell you if the stuff is good.

When going that route - I never encountered any problems.
 
Been using megauploader for about 6 weeks and I have to say I don't think I'll ever go back to torrents. Find some good boards where people share their rapidshare/megauploader links and you'll see plenty of comments on the content and I haven't downloaded any viruses in the TB of stuff so far. You max your line (been averaging about 430 KB/s) and don't have to worry about seeding if your on a site where the share ratio is important. Plus with megaupload you can get a lifetime contract for anything from about R1000-R1400 meaning only bandwith costs to download unlimited content.
