Megsapp Feedback and Support Thread

This is 100% why I bought it - some months I'll use 20gb, other months I'll use almost none. Nice to have something that you can use when you want, that doesn't expire.

Their support isn't great - but - fortunately not many issues.
I’m assuming you are on Android and don't have the app crashing issue.

Agree with you fully. That R349 bundle for 25GB is perfect... I don't actually think there is anything better. Nice part is you can also transfer that data to other megsapp sim cards. Il deal with the sms spam as this offering is excellent.

Did not know that, will look into it because I have multiple sims.

That's an awesome feature, I didn't know about that, that truly makes it the best data deal in South Africa currently.

And I see thankfully @migmegs has stopped with the spam SMS, nothing since last Friday
Hopefully now they can get on to fixing the iOS app so I can load more airtime and I'll not be forced to use shtty networks like Afrihost/Airmobile..

Yea the sms's did stop completely even on my side.

So now I started receiving SMSs on my other number - in my primary phone, 3 in one day. Their solution is to block the number "while we work on implementing a more robust unsubscription system"

Shame I feel bad complaining about the spam SMS's as there data offer is really the best in the market.

Buy yourself as many megs app sim cards you need. Save all the numbers on your contact list. Make one number the primary number buy the 25GB non expiring bundle and transfer the data as you wish to the other numbers.

I see the spam sms's are back to the usual 2 to 3 sms's a day, really unethical but I suppose that's par for the course with network operators.

@migmegs when is the iOS app going to be fixed?
It's been broken now for months and no one at Megsapp seems to care :(
Oh well back to spending my money with MTN.

Just block the number. All the spam comes from the same number. I haven't received any since. The iOS app is also fine apart from the odd crash. If you disable notifications it won't open however. I just enabled them again.
Interesting, I thought that may be the cause, I'll give that a try, do you also need to enable location access to prevent it crashing?
If you leave the app notifications on does the app spam you?

No notification spam as of yet. I haven't tested the location access since I usually just grant it when the app is open.

Ok I tested this now and if you allow notifications the app stops crashing, you don't need to allow location access.
What a bunch of muppets that can't make an app work unless the user enables notifications.

I blocked the number - then immediately started getting the same generic message on Whatsapp, 3x 24 hours - had to block Whatsapp as well.

So basically, for peace and quiet.
1. Block the number
2. Block the whatsapp contact
3. Turn off app notifications.

Shame guys but with there offer. We really shouldn't be complaining so much.

No fk that, if I couldn't silence their spam I’d can then straight away, my sanity isn't worth the few bob I save using Megsapp. I have R100 credit waiting for me with Air Mobile but I have had enough of their bs, maybe Megsapp is heading the same way.

And also spam is spam, there's no excuse for it and in any case it’s pointless, they have already "captured" us as customers there's no need to spam us, nevermind spam pushes existing users away from spending on their services and not towards them.
