Melon Mobile Launching Soon?

seems Melon Mobile Calvin Collett new project getting ready for launch, there website now taking names for beta users - https://melonmobile.co.za/

Any one with any in site?
Assuming its selling point is going to be no expiry Data.
Assuming with will be MVNO, wonder which network it will run on.

Website looks identical to Vox, that means stay away.

“Great question, We run off the MTN infrastructure and network, which means we do everything they can. We’re a virtual, truly digital network operator, and we like it that way. We’re pretty sure you will too #TheMelonIsComing”

Quote from them suppose MTN happy to help when you gave them supersonic

Do we really need another mobile service provider?

Looks like a slick marketing campaign

Its easy to talk the talk , but lets see if they can walk the walk

Activation took about 5 minutes, super quick.
As below seems to be limited to LTE for the moment, but that is very subjective, as it was one test in one area.
I am on Vodacom but my area is listed as MTN 5G Area.
Just had to change the APN as it defaulted to MTN on setup

Was given a 068 Number.
Usage appeared almost instantly on the app portal.

Below are prices and build your own plan options. as well quick overview of App.
100GB is R950.00

With It been built on the MTN Network it will come down to pricing and service rather than coverage I suppose.

Just what we need, another MVNO. Just go direct with MTN and Vodacom and save yourself the hassle of dealing with a middleman.

Until these MVNO's introduce eSim , they loosing out on a customer.

Blame MTN. They don't do esims on prepaid.

I was wondering been so app based if they were going to be eSim based.
there may be push back from the networks using eSims.

I know Rain was experimenting with eSims a while ago, so I would be surprised if there announcement entering the mobile market is them releasing that to the wider market with eSim data add on.
There test bed was iOS eSim data add on.

Lazarus Group and North Korea already get all my info from my 3CX app...might as well add Mossad and Israel to the mix with the Amdocs developed Melon app.

Imagine the big operators offering us plans like these DIY plans.
Would be fscking awesome. Choose your gigs and minutes and there you go. At great prices obviously.
