Melon Mobile Launching Soon?

Really wonder what the big hold up is with esims...

Operators like this should really be launching with a esim option by default.
Well they were to launch esim by end May, nada

*edit, they gonna miss the boat...

They're pretty similar to uconnect but run on MTN like Afrihost air mobile. You download the app and register. From there you can set up an esim with a pay as you use profile. They give you a QR code you can scan so you don't have to set it up manually like uconnect and the app is better designed and more intuitive. The rates are available here https://melonmobile.co.za/ and the more data you buy the cheaper it gets (R15 per gig if you buy 50 gigs). I also found this coupon code to give you 2gb free if you buy something "Mamelon". My iPhone picks the network up as Melon and I haven't received any MTN spam yet. One great thing is the data doesn't expire if you have one payment event in the month.

Will I port to them?
Probably yes. Unlike with Afrihost Air mobile you don't get MTN spam here and it'll work out cheaper than FNB connect etc. Thinking of getting the 50gb package and then just buying some small voice minutes monthly. Being esim it means I can cut up my regular sim as well.
All in all it's a pretty decent offering. Nothing groundbreaking or that much cheaper but still solid. Also they don't have gimmicks like getting double your airtime or needing to spend R1000 at Checkers to get 1gb back like uconnect.

Do you have eSIMs now and what’s the call rate?
Im also tired of MTN spam and expiring call bundles

How do you order the esim, they are asking for a delivery address at checkout and no option for esim?
