Hi guys. So I drive a W211 E320 Avantgarde with the factory fitted COMAND NTG 1 system. Love the tight integration, but now the maps disk is in need of an update. In true unreasonable Mercedes style they want to charge over R4000 for the latest Nav DVD.

Anyone know where to get the upgraded maps disk for cheaper?

The internetz is apparently good for this sort of thing...

Well I would if I knew anyone else who has (a) and E-Class and (b) and E-Class with COMAND. Sadly, I do not. Internet search has turned up nothing.

Yup, I did mail them. They don't have the MEA navigation disks. The current maps that I have are not horrible, but they are rather outdated. However R4k for a new disk is a tad silly since you can buy a brand new Garmin for the same amount or less...

Hi i drive a e-class e270cdi, also uses NTG1 africa maps, these days, it doesn't want to read the disk anymore
and mercedes want to charge R2800 for the map dvd, any help?

Had a little bitch and moan at Mercedes Benz now:

"Good day,

I wish to express my dismay at the extortionsitic price asked by MB for an updated navigation DVD for the COMAND system. When one spends in excess of R20K on a navigation system on a R500K car it seems like a kick in the teeth when you get told that an updated navigation data DVD is going to set you back in excess of R4000. Not only is this equal to nearly a 5th of the cost of the COMAND system, but it also comes to nearly 1% of the base price of the vehicle. Added on top of that the R30 000+ worth of optional extras that were selected at time of purchase and it all becomes a bit silly, really. Why does MB not offer these updated disks as a value added service to their customers?

Kind regards,"
