Ag no man - I thought you finally got some taste and now you tell me it is for your mom?

My styling prefences in Mercedes has always been classic (what is affordable) or avantgarde (stylish with less chrome).
 
does your mum want to buy it new? ... id say get a demo or second hand one, esp considering the market

I have to say the new Mercs are lacking in the interior quality department.
I recently went for a drive in the new VW Passat CC and the interior was top notch!! Much better than the Mercs, infact all of its contenders have better quality interiors, the A4, 320, CC and the Jetta.
 
The interiors can be pure gold - there will always be one or two problems though...

It will not last as long as the Mercedes, you are still driving a Volkswagen - not a Mercedes and you paying far to much for a name that implies you are common folk driving a wagen.
 
And it competes with what? Apart from being as pointless as a B-class and lacking, well, class - it looks like every other Audi...

In the past you had the big sedans - S-class and 7-series and the medium sized ones, the E-class and 5-series. Then BMW came up with the award winning 3-series and Mercedes answered with the C-class. Life was good.

Audi caught up much later and tried to compete using the A8, A6 and A4 positioned at the above mentioned segments. Then VW joined in as a rebadged or sub-badged or what-ever-you-wanna-call-it-badging alternative and now they are making new models each month. Whats next? the A4.5 or the A6.75 ?

Imagineless, classless, tactless but always overpriced - that is VAG for you.

It will never have the same heritage or stance as a Mercedes or BMW for that matter. You might as well get a Hyundai Sonata and stop pretending.

No we bought a Merc a month ago...
The interior is similar to my Polo, hard hollow plastic!!! Only in certain parts though.

in a Merc...no! What model did ya'll buy, wife's mother and father both have mercs, he has CL500 and E280 and she has C180 compressah...they Mercaholics, I always take the CL 500 out to the shop but their leather is cool, the C180 has hard leather yes

We've always had the C Class over the years but we skipped the last model and went for BM, now back to Merc and I dont think its upto scratch.
Its a limited edition C200K.

Thanks - he said that when he did a story on Lamborghini. Apparently old man Lamborghini bought himself a Ferrari but true to Ferrari's of the time it had a dodgy gear box. When we complained to Enzo about it he got told to fsck off and go build more tractors and farm equipment. Italians can get very upset and out of spite Lamborghini built a better car(s) :cool:

Ye, got some extra extras. Different seats with white stitching, new wheels, Gti style headlights, sports interior trim, avantgarde plus kit, some other bits and bloody chrome bits everywhere:rolleyes:

Its different but cool.
