Metal Gear Solid 5.

Good god man, Doobiwan, I had that too!

That was something mind blowing, 40 playable characters!!!
It looked very pretty and played like a dream.
Those were the days!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA, there is actually an MGS4 parody mocking the X360. Snake gets a codec call from Otacon telling him to change discs but then he realises wait it's Blu-Ray and then jabbers on. Kojima really took a righteous piss at 360 fans on that one, hahahaha. Lets just face it 360 fan boys will have their Halo 3 and Gears of War (Very much PC inspired) and PS3 fanboys will have their Metal Gear's and Final Fantasy's. Ultimately it's what you prefer in life that matters.

You guys (ps3 fanbois) are only harping on the BD because it is all that you have to harp about. :D
When 360 brings a bd ad on, what are you going to cling to then?
Your sixaxis remote? ;)

Yeah I remember that bit... :D

GOW is really cool but Halo3? WTF with that game?

but wait, as far as I know, xbox can't have games on an external bru-ray drive, why? because not every one will have one, so that means that the xbox is stuck with the dvd and it is also stuck with not being able to use a hdd. lol,

As far as I know BluRay is only planned for the next iteration of the Xbox console...

Bollocks! The hdd and bd is still an option, they can always make it cheaper and more affordable for arcade owners. Next argument?

As far as I know BluRay is only planned for the next iteration of the Xbox console...

Rumour and specualtion! why follow the failed example of the ps3 (flamesuit is secure) and hike the price of a console if it can be an ad on and be available as an option.

Both of your arguments are slightly flawed!
The simple reason is that the technology that was used for the Ps3 is now MUCH cheaper.
So ms can now release a bd drive as they wish at any price they wish.

But we are talking about one option here.
Bd is an option that happened to become the winner.

There are more cost effective methods of mass-storage i.e flash drives etc.
Also HD is not Bd dependent! That is something that is always left by the way side in the ps3 fanboi mantra:
BluRay,BluRay,BluRay,BluRay,BluRay,BluRay,BluRay,BluRay,BluRay...

As far as I know BluRay is only planned for the next iteration of the Xbox console...

Exactly, by the time blu-ray surpasses DVD as the mainstream media the next iteration of XBOX will
be out(with blu-ray) and it will dominate because of the rate technology advances,

(eg.No one will deny that the best graphics card today is five times better than Nvidia and ATI's flagship cards were 2 years ago,)

SONY cant expect the PS3 to last as long as the PS2 did, Their competition is far more threatening now, than it was with the first XBOX.And if Microsoft decide to bring out a new console in the next 2 years and SONY dont, I fear
the majority of Playstation Fans will move over to Microsofts new Console.

which in turn will mean the end of the playstation. :D

Ahem. Shall we consider things?

MGS has something 10 hours of HD cutscenes. That in itself is about 30Gb. If it's not clear already 360 gamers don't give a ****! 360 gamers are the kind of guys that demand a skip button for the cutscenes!

In truth, MGS is a 10 hour game, extended by waffle. GTA4 is a 30-100 hour game, guess what SHOCK, HORROR, it's only 6.7Gb! Mass Effect 40Hours - 7Gb, Oblivion a gazillion hours - fits on a DVD.

Gameplay >>> Guff

In other words, BD means nothing to a gamer, and is why you can keep MGS4, I don't want to spend 10 hours listening to some bizarre idea of what Hideo Kojima thinks of war, I'd rather spend the time fighting my own.

Hehehehe...
Good point on Oblivion, currently playing that and not sure how they fit all of that on one disc.

*sigh*

And then you get those sorts. There's a reason history's import. Stay in school kids!

Halo 1 was the first FPS built from the ground up for a console. Not only that, Bungie took a chainsaw to "PC FPS" conventions and built a game around the game that changed the FPS genre from one of "Guy with the biggest gun wins" to one of tactics and teamwork.

The FPS mechanics that you take for granted today are almost all attributable to Halo is some way. Regenerating Health, limit kits, "3 way combat ie guns/grenades/melee", vehicles as a core component, that's all Halo. Halo 2 built on that with some tweaks like dual weilding, but the big change was console online play. Being the only game of it's sort, it sparked a revolution.

Halo 3 might not seem revolutionary, but that's because it can't be. Halo is the Meat and Potatoes of most Cyber-gaming leagues and changing the formula would have caused an outcry. To date it remains the most carefully balanced game on the planet, rivalled only by Blizzard. Like MGS4, Halo3 is one for the fans.

Hahahaha, Halo 3 was probably a PC game that they decided to put on the 360. Funny how Xbox fanboys brag on originality but they only have generic genre's spawned from PC games.

*shakes head*
Please spam stupidity elsewhere.
But for sake that it is fanboi friday, and I am in an the mood for fanboi meat, lets play...*grins evilly*

Are you a pc gamer or ps3 owner?

Maybe he works for Sony :D:D:D:D

Here's what I know.

Kojima is signing out of the Metal Gear project. Snake is Kojima's story. A story of who Kojima is, etc, etc. And the story ended with MGS 4.
Thus, there's no such thing as a Metal Gear SOLID 5. There'll be a Metal Gear game, but there'll be no Snake in there, and, if it's multiplatform, not having the Snake background to the series to some extent subverts the reason for playing the game itself.

Secondly, even if the 360 develops a BD add-on which has been mere speculation for quite some time, porting it to the 360 would be largely a combination of backwash and improbability.
There are scenes in the game where the actual PS/PS3 is depicted and mentioned. Thus they would have to redo all those parts and one part cannot be redone. I won't mention it as it contains spoilers to the game.

MGS is about the story. Even though the scenes are skippable passing them up would destroy the MGS experience. The game is a cinematic one and therefore demands the long scenes. Any MGS fan/player would know what I'm talking about.

Lastly, and I tell many this. I'm no PS3/360 'fanboy'. I own both the 360 and the PS3 and am looking at purchasing a Wii some time soon.
Being a fanboy doesn't fulfil.
PS3 fanboys will never experience the brute joy of games like Gears of War. 360 fanboys will never indulge in the austere magic of games like MGS4.
Fanboys can flame each to the dregs for all I care, but, I do feel some small pity for them for the above mentioned reasons.

Zero, I agree with you 100%

I don't think MGS would sell well on the 360. I've long held that the nature of native games on the 2 platforms are different. For me it shows in the controls vs gameplay of all the games. 360 games tend to be tighter more focues affairs, PS games tend to be looser but more varied. Compare things like GTA4 to Crackdown.
