I found out its because of a bug in the beta steam client.

Oh well...playing it right now and so far its an ok game.

Bought the game today, can anyone please tell me how do u enable the frames per second/to view your results? are there other external software/ programs that one uses...?

Consoles don't have that option so I assume you are talking about PC! Use Fraps.

I'd recommend it to anyone who loves the FPS genre TBH. Just don't confuse FPS lovers with the younger generation who automatically think FPS = Call of Duty.
