Hi,

I have a metrofibre ONT/Modem in one. I am trying to assign fixed IP addresses to various devices. Went through the entire process twice and only to find it get deleted later. Anyone experiencing this?

Thanks

Are you assigning fixes IPs to your internal devices? What do you mean by "gets deleted later"

Yes Internal devices. When one goes back a bit later, teh entire table of fixed IPs assigned is gone!

Which Table are you referring to? Are you saying you are creating DHCP reservations on your router?

It's possible the MFN head-end equipment re-provision your ONT from time to time, so any 3rd party settings are wiped off.

I'm suspecting that as well! ....

Yeah, MFN are doing away with those all-in-one ONT's, so customers would have their own router and can do as they please.

Good day

This issue was reported previously by another client of ours. We have escalated it to Calix tech support. They were able to re-create the issue and have acknowledged it. It will be fixed in the latest version of firmware.

Oh Great. What is the time frame? Is there an interim fix?

Here is a quick work around i have used , instead of using DHCP reservations change the DHCP range to 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.200 , this in effect gives you 50 odd free IP addresses outside the DHCP range . Go and allocate a fixed IP to all the devices you want to connect using addresses higher than 192.168.1.200. Ive not had an issue using this set up but even if the worst comes to worst and the ONT resets is DHCP range you only have to reload it as opposed to doing all the IP addresses all over again.

Anyone experiencing problems signing into Play Station Network recently on either Greencom/Metrofibre? Used to work fine, but unsuccessful in the past few days......

Hi Torgo

Had a couple of issues like this recently...not sure why it became a sudden problem but I was able to resolve the issue by logging onto the ONT and lowering the firewall security settings to medium and disabling "stealth mode". IF you still experience further issues I'd recommend perhaps requesting a static, public IP from your ISP - could fix NAT issues between the devices
