I feel I should also mention some good experience I had with Metrofibre since the last post.
So, last Wednesday my ADSL went dead after various issues with Crystalweb migrating my line back to OpenTekomServe and me requesting that Telkom not add a data line since it would take about the same time as Fibre activation(and me not having to pay for another month's voice or data line).
The Friday before, I submitted my Fibre application, and they said it would take 5-8 working days. So, after everything going dead on Wednesday, I asked them whether Metrofibre can assist me on short notice. The lady said she will try, but can't promise anything.
Day went by, I assumed it would be a long weekend without any internet (preparing to die inside

), and got on my way home. 16:32 just before getting onto the Gautrain, I get a Whatsapp from my wife. The installation guy is on his way. :O 16:45 he arrives, not even 5 minutes, he's done. Honestly, it's really just plugging in wires, but this is Africa, so I thought he may be there for over an hour, but he wasn't.
16:50 I get a phonecall from a very polite Metrofibre lady, she says she needs a number on the router sticker so she can activate. As I am not home, I ask her to phone my wife. No qualms from her at all to do that, she goes ahead.
16:57 my wife lets me know that it's activated.
All in all, a very happy weekend.
