Hi guys has anyone have had experience with the Xiaomi Mi Band 2 by any chance?
Im looking for a cheap but reliable fitness tracker

Thanks!:D

Try and get a Garmin Vivofit 1 or 2. That 2 year battery life combined with the capability to capture ant+ heart rate data makes it a very handy fitness tracker.

Yo my pocket is crying already:cry: thats a bit too much for me at the moment, its actually a present for the wife so lets see how active she gets! lol

And the Miband has ridiculously long battery life

Thanks for pointing me in the right thread direction, i'd prefer the miband 2 myself! i think the look and screen is awesome!
Yeah going to grab one from Amazon and give this one to my dad.

Balls of steel, you have :D just stand back when you give it to her she might think you're insinuating she is fat.

I posted a mini review of mine on the other Xiaomi thread, will see if I can link it here

From the 'Xiaomi is planning to enter the African market in September' thread:

Wabbit16's unofficial quick 15-minute review of the Mi Band 2:

All charged up! The battery is fully charged after approx. 1h30min via my PC USB 2.0 port. I have it set to track my sleep, wake me up in the mornings and send me notifications when my phone rings and when I receive SMS'es.

Will report back tomorrow with the battery percentage to monitor the drain

The reason I stated before that the Mi Fit app was confusing is that when launched you are thrown onto the Status page that shows your total steps, distance walked and calories burned as a percentage of your goal steps (mine is 10'000). Beneath the main graph is a section that says 'No sleep data' which will probably have some info after tonight. Below that is my current weight (you enter it when you setup your profile along with your height, age and gender):

Clicking on the circle with the current steps brings up this graph of your activity per day:

The sleep data will probably populate after tonight:

Clicking on your weight brings this up, which you can also track if you purchase Xiaomi's Smart Bluetooth Scale. Or you could, you know, enter it manually every few days if weight loss is your goal:

Heartrate measurements also feature as does your recent ones:

I'll post up the rest later when I get a gap:D

The build quality seems fair as I have been wearing it pretty much nonstop since I got it. It only leaves my wrist when working in confined spaces, but other than that I have it on when showering at night, while doing dishes and working and sleeping.

The display has a few faint scratches on but nothing to be concerned about. It has a plastic fascia and not glass so this is to be expected. I ordered a few screen protectors that should be here next week which I will be applying. I am quite keen to see how well it will stay attached as I subject the device to a lot of water every day.

The band itself has a few scuffmarks from me bumping it into things, but nothing too serious. I ordered a spare band as well in case this one tears or gets too ugly.

No connections issues yet and it seems to pick up from quite a distance away from my phone. I did have the Mi Band Tools app that allows you to customise the Band a lot more than the Mi Fit app does, but it impacted battery life a bit (my guess due to two apps polling it frequently as opposed to just Mi Fit). For the record, I uninstalled Mi Band Tools again and I have 63% battery life remaining since the last charge 10 days ago. I use it as a silent alarm as well and to notify me of incoming calls and SMS'es (my phone is on silent pretty much 24/7), but I turned the heart rate sleep assistant feature off. Not that it seems to have impacted the accuracy of it at all, as it still tracks my light and heavy sleep patterns and when you go and sleep and wake up etc.

Got the Mi Band 2 yesterday and super impressed!:wtf:

No connectivity issues, looks good, band feels good, notifications working perfectly too!

Only 2 issues i have encountered:
1-didnt track a run i did yesterday, it should automatically sense it
2- doesnt track naps or weird sleeping patterns

either than that a little epic tracker

Where did you order it from?

Got one as well. Overall very impressed for the price, and what really makes it stand out for me is the battery life. 97% remaining after 2 days. I can't use notifications yet as I'm on Windows phone :/ but support may be coming via a 3rd party app. I also really like that its fairly slim and understated compared to many other options.

Ordered from dx.com. Took about a month to arrive.

Just ordered the Mi Band 2 + extra red band + screen protector for R495 from DX.com

Will update when its received.

I'm sure it will go well with the Redmi Note 3 I bought in the WeChat promo.
